About the Production:

Houshang Kamkar, the manager of the Kamkars and the eldest member of this prominent and rare family music band, speaks to Music Iranian News Agency about how the making of this film came about:

“Many filmmakers around the globe have approached us to make a film about our band,” Houshang Kamkar, head of the Kamkars, told the Iranian Music correspondent about the production of the documentary about the Kamkars. “We have been offered by several famous filmmakers before. However, due to the concerns and sensitivities of me and other members of the band, conditions were never provided for making any films. After meeting Mohammad Reza Eyni, and after reaching an intellectual and mutual understanding about the conditions for making this film, and also with confidence in his artistic abilities, we came to the conclusion that it is a good time to produce this film so that the audience and music lovers of the Kamkars become aware of the fascinating and unique experience that the Kamkars have gone through to get to where they are now."
